Job Description - Senior Manager- AI Agents- Canada Tax and Law Technology Group

At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go.

Join EY and help to build a better working world.

The Opportunity

EY’s Canada Tax & Law Technology Group (CTTG) is seeking an experienced Associate Director / Senior Manager – AI Agents to play a critical role in shaping and delivering our next generation of AI-enabled solutions. This role is focused on the design, orchestration, and delivery of AI agents and intelligent workflows that transform how Tax & Law services are delivered across Canada.

This is not a traditional software developer role (though candidates with development experience are welcome). Instead, we are looking for a senior technology professional who understands artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, and modern delivery models—and who is equally fluent in engaging business leaders. You will act as a bridge between the business and technical teams, translating strategy, requirements, processes, and workflows into scalable AI-driven solutions.

This job posting relates to an existing vacancy within our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Tax & Law leaders to identify opportunities where AI agents and intelligent automation can drive efficiency, quality, and new service offerings.

  • Lead the discovery and shaping of AI use cases, articulating the art of the possible and advising on emerging and best-in-class technologies.

  • Understand business processes, end-to-end workflows, and operating models to inform solution design and prioritization.

  • Translate business requirements, assumptions, and constraints into clear functional and technical direction for development teams.

  • Guide the design and delivery of AI agents leveraging technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, machine learning, and other AI services.

  • Work closely with agile development teams to deliver scalable, secure, and production-ready solutions.

  • Contribute to solution architecture, data flows, and integration patterns, including the use of APIs and workflow-based solutions.

  • Oversee delivery execution, including planning, risk management, dependency management, and stakeholder communications.

  • Collaborate with technology, risk, data, and enablement teams to ensure solutions align with EY standards and compliance requirements.

  • Support implementation, adoption, and continuous improvement of deployed AI solutions.

  • Provide thought leadership on AI trends, tooling, and market developments relevant to Tax & Law.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

  • Demonstrated experience acting as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

  • Proven ability to lead complex technology-enabled transformations and influence senior stakeholders.

  • Excellent process analysis and problem-solving skills, with a focus on pragmatic, scalable solutions.

  • Comfort working in agile delivery environments and iterative development models.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level storytelling.

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities, and fast-paced initiatives.

  • Collaborative mindset with experience working across multidisciplinary teams.

To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degrees are an asset.

  • 8–12+ years of experience in technology consulting, digital transformation, product management, business architecture, or a similar role.

  • Hands-on experience with AI technologies, intelligent automation, or advanced analytics; experience designing or leading AI agent implementations is a strong asset.

  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle, agile methodologies, and modern solution architectures.

  • Experience gathering and documenting requirements (business analysis), mapping processes, and guiding solutions from concept through implementation.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Exposure to Microsoft ecosystem technologies (Azure, Power Platform, Copilot, data and integration services).

  • Tax, Legal, or professional services industry experience.
