Job Description - Senior Manager, HRBP Operations & Supply Chain

Job summary

We're on the lookout for an engaging, adaptable, and purpose-oriented Senior Manager, Human Resources Business Partner, Operations & Supply Chain to join our A-team, providing support across our Operations Functions in Ontario. As a seasoned Human Resources leader, you have a deep commitment to crafting a seamless employee journey and devising strategies that empower individuals to reach their professional milestones. You possess a breadth of experience as a generalist with deep experience in manufacturing environments, capable of crafting and executing strategies from the ground up. Your expertise extends to organizational effectiveness, talent management & learning, WSIB and claim management, managing complex employee relations matters, coaching leaders, people leadership, and fostering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion as core values within our organization.

This role will be expected to spend extensive time on-site in our Ontario based facilities and as such, travel will be required.

This position reports directly to the Director, HRBP Operations, Supply Chain, & Science.

As a Manager, HR Business Partner (Operations and Supply Chain), you will…

  • Serve as a strategic HRBP thought partner to the facility Operations leaders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to foster positive employee relations within the facilities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to management on complex employee relations issues, providing guidance and recommendations for resolution.
  • Lead and facilitate employee investigations, ensuring thoroughness, fairness, and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Design and deliver training programs for managers and employees on conflict resolution, effective communication, and other relevant topics.
  • Analyze employee feedback and survey data to identify trends and develop action plans to improve employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in employee relations and proactively recommend initiatives to enhance the employee experience.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior management on complex and sensitive employee relations matters, providing insights and recommendations to resolve issues while minimizing organizational risk.
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal laws and regulations relating to labour relations, employment standards, human rights and privacy legislation.
  • Collaborate closely with occupational health & safety professionals, legal counsel, insurance providers, and other stakeholders to develop effective claims management processes and procedures.
  • Establish clear communication channels and escalation protocols to ensure timely and efficient handling of WSIB claims and related matters.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to mitigate workplace hazards and prevent injuries.
  • Review and analyze injury trends to identify areas for improvement and implement proactive measures to reduce risks
  • Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports as well as the broader HR team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Coach and mentor HR team members to enhance their skills in employee relations, talent management, and HR business partnering, along with other relevant areas.
  • Work in conjunction with the broader Human Resources team to improve, develop, and implement effective programs and processes to retain, and develop employees in support of the organizational goals.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to support their professional growth.
  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead the development, maintenance, and effective deployment/communication of all human resource policies, procedures, and directives, facilitate employee engagement and development, and partner with senior leaders to develop HR strategies that support the organization's objectives and promote a positive work environment.
  • Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify opportunities for process improvement and strategic interventions.
  • Participate in strategic workforce planning initiatives to ensure the organization has the talent and skills needed to achieve its goals.

  • You would be the best fit for this role if you have …

  • Undergraduate Degree in HR or a related field with 8-10 years of directly related experience
  • Experience leading HR in manufacturing and/or operations environment is required
  • CHRP Designation is an asset
  • People leadership experience with a proven track record of developing high potential talent
  • Proven experience in HR Business Partnering coaching leaders, serving as a strategic advisor, and supporting organizational effectiveness initiatives
  • Superior skills in Employee Relations related to conflict management and investigations
  • Demonstrated ability in promoting a collaborative work
  • Deep understanding and application of provincial and federal legislation

  • Strong capability to provide consultation and advice on a wide range of HR issues; as well as able to analyze complex information and data to develop solutions and recommendations
  • Ability to influence and drive employee engagement
  • Demonstrated ability of high personal, professional and ethical standards
  • Detail oriented: High attention to detail and organizational skills: Ability to set priorities and manage multiple projects with tight and competing deadlines
  • Advanced computer skills including experience with HRIS and Microsoft Office products
  • Exceptional communication skills; verbal, written and presentation
  • High degree of initiative, diplomacy, and discretion
