This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Network Security Specialist based in Canada.
This role plays a critical part in protecting and evolving enterprise network security infrastructure within a complex, large-scale environment. You will ensure the stability, integrity, and continuous improvement of network security controls while supporting operational excellence across production and non-production systems. The position combines hands-on technical troubleshooting, security incident response, and infrastructure modernization through evergreening initiatives. You will work across cross-functional teams to identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and enhance the resilience of network services. The environment is highly collaborative, process-driven, and aligned with modern operational practices such as CI/CD and Agile delivery. This is a high-impact role where your expertise directly strengthens the organization’s security posture and operational reliability.
Accountabilities:
- Maintain and support enterprise network security infrastructure, ensuring the integrity and availability of security controls across complex environments.
- Diagnose and resolve advanced cross-functional network and security incidents, including vulnerability identification and mitigation.
- Plan, execute, and validate testing activities related to production deployments, disaster recovery, failover, performance, and security remediation.
- Perform continuous improvement and evergreening activities by identifying security gaps, technical deficiencies, and opportunities for simplification.
- Implement upgrades, configuration changes, and remediation actions to address operational issues and emerging security threats.
- Monitor and analyze network security events using logs, alerts, and monitoring tools to support incident response and root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency, including intelligent automation for repetitive operational tasks.
Requirements:
- University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in network operations and network security within enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies and Check Point firewall and security management platforms.
- Proven experience in IT operations, including incident response, monitoring, troubleshooting, and handling security events and vulnerabilities.
- Experience supporting network security controls such as firewalls, segmentation policies, and secure network configurations.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and participation in modern software or infrastructure delivery lifecycles.
- Experience working with scalable, highly available service-oriented architectures.
- Working knowledge of Agile/SCRUM methodologies and collaboration within cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work in high-pressure operational environments.
- Experience with ServiceNow is considered an asset.
