The Opportunity

The Corporate Services Branch is seeking aproactive and innovative team player with strong communication and analytical skills for the role of Senior Policy Analyst. The Senior Analyst plays an important role in the ministry to improve strategic planning, performance and accountability for the organization, and to improve labour market outcomes for the province.

Reporting to the Manager, of the Planning, Operations and Accommodations Unit, your responsibilities will include:

  • work collaboratively within the unit, as well as with colleagues across the Ministry;
  • provide analysis and recommendations on the Ministry’s corporate strategies, programs and policies;
  • support and enhance planning and reporting processes and deliverables for the Ministry;
  • support implementation of health, safety and wellness initiatives in the Ministry;
  • support and lead continuous improvement initiatives for the Ministry, including identification of outcomes, establishing performance measures, and data collection; and
  • ensure Saskatchewan’s compliance under labour market agreements, including ensuring planning and reporting requirements are met.

Success in this role demands:

  • knowledge of labour market trends, practices, strategies, priorities and implications;
  • knowledge of corporate planning and reporting;
  • knowledge of health, safety and wellness system;
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • the ability to work independently and work cooperatively in a team environment to establish, build and maintain positive working relationships and to ensure deadlines, goals and objectives are met; and 
  • the ability to research and analyze complex issues, and provide recommendations in order to meet Ministry goals and client needs.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have obtained the knowledge required for this position through the completion of a degree in public policy/administration, business administration, or equivalent, or with significant related experience.
