Senior Project Architect - Transit Facilities (Aviation)

Role description:

Our fast-growing Aviation team is looking for an Senior Project Architect with experience in developing details for complex building typologies. The successful candidate will hold a Degree in Architecture and have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience working end to end in the working/construction drawings cycle, be an out-of-the-box thinker with a talent for developing creative detailing solutions.

Reporting to the Principal / Director of Aviation Architecture, the candidate will be working on local and nationwide transit and aviation projects. The candidate will lead the project development from conceptual design to construction, coordinating with consultants, including client liaison.

Role accountabilities:

• Lead and supervise a of team of Architects and Designers


• Initiate and create architectural designs from concept, to design development, to detail design, to construction with a passion for the public realm, architecture and transit


• Successfully collaborate with project team through design process to achieve client goals and requirements


• Preparing Design documents like: Proposals, Presentations, Project Reports


• Work on multiple projects at the same time


• Support the project manager on field services and construction administration

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from a recognized Institution by the OAA


• Registered with the OAA or eligible to be registered in the Province of Ontario


• 10+ years of architectural design experience - preference for aviation related projects


• Proven ability to balance design creativity with project requirements


• Proven ability to oversee the delivery of all architectural aspects of the project including design, production of the construction documents, and specifications


• Proven ability in building construction detailing and experience in REVIT and BIM environments


• Proven ability to work closely with the clients and stakeholders and work with large interdisciplinary teams


• Proven ability in meeting client and stakeholder design and technical requirements.


• Highly organized, self-motivated, problem-solving and detail oriented; proven track record of meeting project timelines


• Experienced producing or working on communication items like: Proposals, Project Reports,


• Experience managing a team required
