MutualONE has Agents and Independent Insurance Brokers, with business throughout Southwestern Ontario, serviced from office locations in Ilderton ON and Seaforth ON.  This is an exciting time for our organizations and an opportunity to join our team at the start of something great!


 


About the Role


We are looking for a professional, motivated and team-oriented Senior Property Claims Representative who will be responsible for navigating the claims process through investigation and evaluation of the loss to final settlement of claim. This is a full-time hybrid role based out of Ilderton or Seaforth Ontario, reporting to the Manager of Claims Services.

Successful candidates must be able to pass a comprehensive background check


 


This role will require travel.  A vehicle, valid Driver’s License and insurance are required.


 


Qualifications & Experience


University Degree or post-secondary education related to insurance


Completion of Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation or enrollment in the program


• Minimum 5 years in claims handling experience including residential, commercial, farm, and property.


Experience in construction or trades, farming (agribusiness or equipment), or other relevant transferable knowledge is an asset


Equivalency in combination of education and experience will be considered


Ongoing commitment to education and learning


Completion of a Drivers Abstract, and Criminal Records Check will be required


Highly capable with computer systems/software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.


 


Responsibilities


Evaluating claims by conducting thorough investigations; determining coverage and validity of claims, interviewing, and communicating with members, scene investigations


Attend loss locations to investigate claim, including taking statements, photographs, and identifying scope of loss


Providing exceptional customer service and support to our members throughout the claims process


Evaluate liability, salvage and subrogation exposure and potential


Coordinate with contractors, appraisers, and other experts as required


Act as claims examiner on claims assigned to independent adjusters


Maintain adequate reserves and accurate records based on company standards and procedures


Negotiate settlement and issue payments for claim


General support of claims area and special projects as required
