Senior Proposal Specialist

The Senior Proposal Specialist will assist the BD team on the preparation of proposal responses associated with high priority, high complexity business development opportunities and will work closely and often independently with the clinical subject matter experts to create customized, comprehensive responses and budgets for Sponsors. This person will support the BD team in internal and external client calls/meetings to support budget reviews and questions and provide strategic input on budgeting approaches.

• Work with BD Managers and operational teams to determine strategy on a particular proposal.
• Understand and share proposal requirements internally.
• Work on more complex proposals and in line with RFP, develop the document content.
• Ensure a thorough understanding of all requirements and assumptions (i.e., endpoints, PROs, demographics).
• When required, conduct market research/literature reviews to strength accuracy of proposals.
• Provide support to BD Manager on RFIs when required.
• Support/provide content for Statement of Work (SOW) development.
• Act as a project manager of internal resources to ensure all parties are contributing content and completing “to dos” when needed.

• Generate initial costing assumptions.
• Generate/populate initial CRO costings in Alimentiv tools then work with clinical experts to refine and finalize.
• Obtain pre-award budgets from vendor and site partners.
• Ensure rolled up costing is correct prior to sending for executive review.
• Support amendments or updates during the process.
• Thoroughly understand final costing and be able to explain to either internal or external stakeholders.
• Support the project team with change orders.

• Attend and facilitate internal bid/no bid, strategy, and project hand-off meetings for awarded projects/sponsors. Some occasional support for bid defenses.
• Provide support to BD Managers with presentations and attend client meetings as needed.
• Support internal project teams related to client or contract issues, questions etc.
• Coordinate with clinical team, site feasibility if required.
• Provide feedback and/or develop BD tools to ensure continuous improvement.
• Generate BD reports as needed.
• May be asked to attend conferences to provide booth and meeting support. 
• All employees are expected to complete training on time and maintain a minimum level of 90% training compliance at all times. 

• Minimum of a post-secondary certificate / diploma (bachelor's degree in health/life sciences or business specialty is preferred)

• 1 - 3 years of related experience (4 - 6 years of related experience is preferred)
• Fluent in English (Verbal and Written)

• Science degree/diploma preferred
• Previous budget building experience in CRO and clinical trials mandatory
• Advanced user ability with Excel and proficient with other MS Office tools
• High degree of detail orientation
• Logical and process thinking mindset
• Good written and verbal communication skills and project management skills.
