Job Description - Senior Real Estate Lawyer

O’Connor Zanardo Professional Corporation is a leading law firm in Ontario, renowned for providing comprehensive legal services with a client-centric approach. We specialize in real estate law, ensuring that our clients receive expert advice and representation in all matters related to property transactions, land development, and real estate litigation.


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Real Estate Lawyer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of Ontario real estate law, a strong track record of successful client outcomes, and the ability to handle complex real estate transactions and disputes.


What You Will Do:



  • Provide expert legal advice and representation to clients on real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, leasing, financing, and development.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to real estate.

  • Conduct thorough due diligence on property transactions to ensure compliance with legal requirements and mitigate risks.

  • Represent clients in real estate disputes, including litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

  • Collaborate with other legal professionals, clients, and stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.

  • Stay updated on changes in real estate laws and regulations in Ontario and provide guidance on their implications for clients.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior lawyers and legal staff.

  • Ensure timely and effective communication with clients regarding case progress, legal strategies, and any changes in the status of their matters.

  • Develop and implement legal strategies that align with clients' business objectives and goals.

  • Advise clients on compliance with local, provincial, and federal real estate laws and regulations.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy to draft correspondence and legal documents.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines and work autonomously.

  • Take initiative and exercise judgment in identifying issues needing immediate attention.

  • Familiarity and willingness to learn new applications.

  • Proficiency in using legal research databases and document management systems.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with changes in real estate law through continuing education and training.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex legal issues efficiently and effectively.


Requirements:



  • Licensed to practice law in Ontario and a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in real estate law, with a strong focus on Ontario real estate transactions and litigation.

  • Proven track record of handling complex real estate matters and achieving successful outcomes for clients.

  • Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain client relationships.

  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards.

  • Strong commitment to maintaining LSO regulations and operational standards.

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
