about this team

The Senior Director of Digital Experience Engineering’s primary responsibility is to supports teams that design and deliver experiences that help guests seamlessly find the right product at the right time. This role is accountable for successful outcomes for the exploration, implementation, testing, delivery and maintenance of technology products like Micro-frontends, Content and Design systems, AI/ML driven Search and Recommendation, Product Catalog, Merchandising and Publishing capabilities and AWS based micro-services. This role directs solutions to functional and technical problems, oversee project and program management, financials and budget management. This role sits in the Global Digital Technology organization of lululemon and is part of the leadership team that enables seamless ecommerce experiences for guests worldwide.

a day in the life

As a seasoned people leader, you can expect the following deliverables:

Leadership:

  • Develop and nurture relationships with senior leadership and cross-functional teams across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, diversity, and equity as per our organization’s IDEA commitment.
  • Lead, support, govern and in partnership with delivery teams during the transition of legacy architecture to modern cloud centric platforms.
  • Focus on Engineering leadership
  • Manage oversight of complex operations processes based on a combination of vendors, custom solutions, and internal resources.
  • Collaborate with the security/engineering/operation and architecture teams on enabling digital experiences
  • Drive coordination, consensus, and execution to mitigate cyber risk issues and emerging threats in such a dynamic environment.
  • Work with business technology teams to understand needs. feedback and define new product roadmap.
  • Develop clear product KPIs based on key insights and mature capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Develop metrics to measure success and ensure ability for on-going monitoring of post-launch results through analysis and reporting.
qualifications
  • 10+ years of related work experience, with direct work experience across a variety of ecommerce web engineering platforms and technologies
  • 8+ years of direct people management experience.
  • Experience with AB Test suites, Customer Journeys & Data Platforms, AWS, REST APIs, Kafka and development on Kubernetes.
  • Experience in building, assembling and delivery technology products associated with cloud based global data platforms and integration platforms such as Kafka, APIM and RDS.
  • Strong knowledge of Web development, micro front-ends, relational/NoSQL database management (Cassandra, Elastic Search), design for high availability, CI/CD tools.
  • Demonstrated ability supporting Tier 1 services for Ecommerce platforms.
  • Highly valued prior experience at executive technology leadership roles.
  • Highly valued prior experience managing and leading Director level organizations
  • Data management, Data governance and Stewardship processes added plus.
  • Ability to: Lead and manage a diverse set of engineering and program management talent. Plan and manage budgets, manage financials, project management.
  • Role model and champion modern ways-of-working such as Agile, DevOps and related practices, actively participate in an architecture/enterprise engineering community
  • Strong communication and “story-telling” skills – ability to articulate a vision or concept in simple terms to a broad audience at every level.
  • Retail industry knowledge a strong plus.

compensation and benefits package

lululemon’s compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $213,000 - $279,500 annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
