Here, you\u2019ll be supported in progressing \u2013 whatever your ambitions.\n\n \n\nAbout the role\n\nWe are currently seeking a Senior Ultrasound Engineer to join our R\u0026D Team and contribute towards the design, development and integration of a novel interventional ultrasound device. As an Ultrasound Engineer on the program, you are responsible for optimizing the image quality from the product, including transducer and interconnects integration, and the development of tools, methods, and infrastructure to evaluate and enhance imaging performance. You will interface with Ultrasound SMEs, product management, and clinical specialists, and other engineering disciplines (transducer, systems, hardware, software, mechanical, and biomedical) to drive a product solution that meets customer needs and aligns with company strategy. In addition to the local development team, you will collaborate with colleagues across the Boston Scientific global network to guide systems-of-systems solutions at both the technical and clinical workflow level, working to integrate this product into the broader ecosystem of therapy and navigation products.\n\n \n\nWork Mode: This role follows an onsite work model requiring employees to be in our local office at least 4 days per week. \n\n \n\nVisa Sponsorship: Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.\n\n \n\nRelocation: This role will not provide relocation support or assistance.\n\n \n\n Your responsibilities will include:\n\n * Design and development of the ultrasound signal path for the interventional imaging device.\n * Partner with console development team on defining the full signal path, from transmit to display. \n * Partner with software and image processing team on design / refinement of GUI elements and post processing algorithms. \n * Executing activities for image performance, including algorithm research and development, pre-clinical and clinical image optimization, verification and validation.\n * Participation of product development activities, including design requirements and specifications, test method development, verification and related documentation that complies with medical device regulations, standards and our ISO13485 Quality Management System.\n * Collaboration with other product teams on \u2018systems-of-systems\u2019 program level initiatives.\n * Collaboration with ultrasound and related technology SMEs across Boston Scientific\u2019s global network.\n * Maintain knowledge (e.g. publications, conferences) of state-of-the-art and trends in imaging technologies.\n * Mentorship and coaching of early-career team members to elevate capabilities of R\u0026D Team.\n * Contribution to IP portfolio, including development of invention disclosures and patent applications.\n * Other duties as required.\n\n\n\n \n\nRequired qualifications:\n\n * Master\u2019s or PhD degree in relevant engineering or science discipline.\n * 6 years (4 years with PhD) experience in medical ultrasound product development, with demonstrated progression of career roles and impact.\n * Substantial experience in medical ultrasound product development, including as an R\u0026D contributor on multiple products from concept stage through to commercialization.\n * Expertise in ultrasound physics, signal and image processing. \n * Experience using fast prototyping software (e.g., MATLAB, Python)\n * Demonstrated ability to contribute in and influence a highly technical group.\n * Excellent oral and written communication skills for multiple levels of an organization.\n * Experience engaging with clinicians to gain direction and product feedback.\n * Ability to travel (~10%) domestically and internationally.\n * Ability to work in an inclusive, collaborative and fast-paced environment with minimal direction, including on global teams.\n * Working knowledge of relevant medical device regulations and guidance (e.g., ISO 13484, ISO 14971, IEC 62304, IEC 60601).\n\n\n\n \n\nPreferred qualifications:\n\n * Experience with numerical modelling and algorithm development.\n * Experience in echocardiography and image quality optimization.\n\n\n\n \n\nRequisition ID: 626551\n\nMinimum Salary: $83,300 \n\nMaximum Salary: $132,300 \n\nThe anticipated compensation and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) \u2013 see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com\\--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role.
