We're a financial services co-operative with an expansive reach on Vancouver Island, the Gulf and Discovery islands and North Central BC. Joining us is your chance to work, and do good, locally. We are seeking a Senior Vice President, Personal Banking. This role provides the strategic direction and leadership that drives the success of the Personal Banking Division by guiding multi‑channel teams, elevating performance, and supporting sustainable growth across Coastal Community Credit Union.


This opportunity offers the ability to work remotely from anywhere in British Columbia.


What's the role?


As our Senior Vice President (SVP), Personal Banking, you’ll report to the Chief Relationship and Growth Officer and lead the Personal Banking Division. In this role, you’ll be responsible for shaping the overall direction of the retail business and ensuring that vision comes to life across all member‑facing channels. You’ll lead high‑performing teams across branches, digital services, and the contact centre, fostering alignment, operational strength, and ensuring consistent member experience.


You’ll champion innovation, strengthen community connections, and advance strategies that enhance financial well‑being for members while driving sustainable growth for the organization. You will also play a key role in developing leadership capability, elevating service standards, and ensuring that the Personal Banking division is well‑positioned to meet both current and future needs.


Your duties will include:



  • Collaborate with Executive leadership to shape corporate direction and long‑range priorities.

  • Leads the development and execution of divisional strategies, policies, and goals for Personal Banking and Financial Consultants.

  • Drives growth while ensuring alignment with risk management and overall balance‑sheet needs.

  • Oversee the division’s business plan and budget, ensuring targets for member satisfaction, relationships, and revenue are met.

  • Provides strategic leadership, coaching, and performance oversight for senior leaders across Personal Banking and multi‑channel teams.

  • Identifies and advances business development opportunities across retail and investment services to expand member relationships.

  • Ensures strong sales and service performance by maintaining quality controls, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.


What are we looking for?



  • Successful completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline (e.g., Commerce or Business Administration); requiring a minimum of 4 years of full-time study or equivalent.

  • Advanced degree preferred.

  • Advanced understanding of credit union operations, principles, and values.

  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressive experience managing a financial services environment, including complex loan portfolios and business development.

  • Advanced knowledge of personal banking, regulatory requirements, deposit policies, practices, procedures, and general retail banking operations.

  • Superior understanding of the competitive environment in the financial marketplace, and local communities within Coastal Community’s market area.

  • Advanced knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.



    Ideally, you are a flexible, collaborative team player with:



    • Advanced knowledge and understanding of credit union services and products including retail lending and deposit gathering.

    • The ability to articulate and implement a vision, and motivate and lead a team to achieve results round out the required skill set.

    • Acquire and maintain knowledge and understanding of the retail banking industry to proactively respond to changing member behaviours, habits, and expectations as well as industry trends.

    • Advanced knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

    Career Band Range (Annual Salary) - $153,407.00 to $193,500.00


    The posted salary range is designed to reflect a broad career band, encompassing a variety of roles within our organization and serves as a general guideline. Your final compensation will be tailored to your unique skills, experience, and the responsibilities of the role.
