The Role Based out of Surrey Office, the Senior Water Resources Engineer will support the Infrastructure Planning Group.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead urban water, sanitary and drainage system modelling, including data management, model setup and calibration, and system assessment;
Lead and review design calculations in accordance with current standards
Lead the development of Infrastructure servicing plans, rainwater management plans and flood management plans for subdivisions, neighbourhood and city-wide areas;
Lead technical analysis in support Civil engineering design associated with municipal water, sanitary sewer, drainage conveyance works and hydraulic structures;
Develop rainwater source control concepts and lead in design of onsite source control BMPs and onsite/offsite detention facilities;
Prepare construction cost estimates, implementation plan and operation and maintenance manuals; and
Write and review of technical memorandums and reports.
Additional responsibilities will include client communication and management; proposal preparation; coordination with subconsultants, regulatory agencies, project planning, budgeting, scheduling and other project management tasks.
Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, water resources or related field with minimum ten (10) years of related experience;
Registered as a P.Eng. or eligible with EGBC;
Experienced in hydrological and hydraulic analysis and modelling using various techniques and modelling software;
Experienced in infrastructure master planning, rainwater management planning and flood management planning;
Proficient in using Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Civil3D, ArcGIS or QGIS and other computer programs for modelling of water distribution systems, sanitary and storm sewer systems and open channel hydraulics;
Experienced in project management of projects with comprehensive planning tasks and coordination with internal and external project team members, clients, subconsultants and government agencies;
Excellent communication and technical writing skills;
Comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Compensation The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $155,000 per year, commensurate with experience, skillsets, and qualifications.
