We’re looking for an experienced Service Manager who knows how to run a busy shop, lead a good team and keep customers coming back.
If you’ve spent your career around heavy trucks, you already know what the job takes. Priorities change. Customers need answers. Techs need support. Parts need to be there when they’re needed. And at the end of the day, the work needs to get done properly and on time.
We’re looking for someone who can bring all of that together.
What You'll Be Doing:
You’ll take the lead on the day-to-day running of the service department, working closely with the technicians, customers and parts team to keep the shop moving.
That includes:
Leading and supporting a team of licensed techs, apprentices and service staff
Managing the daily shop schedule and assigning work based on priority and capacity
Keeping jobs moving and dealing with issues before they become bigger problems
Monitoring productivity, turnaround times and quality of work
Making sure customers know where their trucks stand and what to expect
Reviewing work orders, estimates and repair requirements
Working with Parts to make sure the shop has what it needs
Supporting technical troubleshooting when needed
Making sure safety and quality standards are being followed
Coaching the team, addressing performance issues and recognizing good work
Keeping an eye on the numbers and making sure the department is performing
Finding practical ways to make the shop run better
Who We're Looking For:
You don't necessarily need to have followed one specific career path to be successful here.
You do need to know the industry, understand the shop and know how to lead people.
Ideally, you'll bring:
Experience in a heavy truck, commercial vehicle, fleet, transportation or heavy equipment environment
Previous experience leading technicians or running a service department
Strong knowledge of heavy-duty maintenance and repair
A 310T Truck and Coach Technician licence is a strong asset
The ability to earn the respect of experienced techs
Strong customer service instincts—you can have a straight conversation with a customer when things don't go according to plan
Good judgement and the ability to make decisions when the shop gets busy
An understanding of labour hours, productivity, work orders and shop profitability
A practical leadership style—you'll jump in when needed, but you also know how to let good people do their jobs
The Opportunity:
We're looking for someone who wants to run the shop like it's their own.
You'll have the responsibility that comes with the role, but you'll also have the ability to make decisions, support your people and have a real say in how the department operates.
If you've been around heavy trucks for a while and you're ready to take ownership of a service department—or you're already doing it and looking for the right next move—we should talk.
