Service Technician I

Summary:

Working with our team at Global Heat Transfer (GHT), under supervision, the Service Technician I completes tasks related to the cleaning, pressure testing and painting of radiators and oil coolers. Tasks may include repair and or assembly. This position often works closely with an assigned mentor as they are learning/training. Immediately communicating any issues that arise to their Mentor, Lead Hand and/or Service Coordinator. Assisting with the operation of overhead crane and rigging may be required. The Service Technician may also assists in areas such as; warehouse activities, forklift operation and general housekeeping. Candidates must be physically able to lift to 45lbs regularly, stand for long periods of time with frequent reaching, pulling, pushing, crouching, and rotating movements, in a safe manner. Adherence to all company policies and procedures, as well as active participate in FET’s HSE program is required.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Working under supervision, perform duties as assigned by Production and/or Service Coordinators in a safe, timely manner.


• Be attentive to and incorporate teaching of Global procedures from more experienced from more experienced personnel/mentor.


• Clean, pressure test and paint radiators and oil coolers.


• Assist with repair of radiators/coolers including re-gasket, re-tube and re-core.


• Assist with the assembly of custom industrial radiator, oil and gas cooler packages.


• Communicate to the Lead Hand and/or mentor Service Coordinator any build or repair issues.


• Available for early morning, afternoon and weekend overtime as required.


• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.


• Actively participate in FET’s Health, Safety and Environment program.


• Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge

• Ability to work in a team environment.


• Knowledge of safety fundamentals.


• Attention to detail.


• Good verbal communication.


• Preference to candidates who are mechanically inclined.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.

Experience

• 1+ year experience in a shop environment.


• Prior forklift experience and certification preferred.


• Overhead rigging and crane experience considered and asset.
