Description

Job Duties:

Utilize hand-held tools such as nail guns, staplers, saws
Creating shipments with attention to documentation
Receive and disburse shipments while verifying and inspecting contents
Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers
Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding
Nails covers on wood crates and bins containers with metal tape, using a strapping machine
Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
Collecting all material and equipment needed to begin the process
Operate machinery used in the shipping process
Operate Fork Truck, Reach Truck, and Forklift
Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities
Follow all company rules and policies
Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
Follow all safety rules and quality standards
Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
Lift raw materials, final products, and items packed for shipment, manually (up to 50 lbs. using a hoist)
May be required to work an alternate shift
Must be prepared and capable of working outdoors throughout each season
Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA, and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies
Any other duties as assigned by the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor or Senior Leadership team
