We are currently looking to fill a permanent, full-time position in our Shipping and Receiving Department located at our Port Coquitlam facility. As a key member of our team, you will thrive in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. 

Position: Shipper/Receiver
Start Date: Immediate
Term: Full-time, permanent
Salary: to be determined based on qualifications and experience

Description: Reporting directly to the Shipping Leadhand. As a member of our highly motivated Port Coquitlam team, you are responsible for daily shipping and receiving activities, including scheduling, preparing, receiving, inspecting and documenting inbound/outbound shipments.


Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using the proper handling equipment
• Examine inbound shipments to verify accuracy to orders
• Picking, packing and setting up orders for delivery or pick up
• Schedule and coordinate with both inbound and outbound carriers and couriers
• Prepare accurate bill of lading, inter-branch inventory transfer forms, and loading papers
• Report any quality or inventory discrepancy issues to the appropriate person

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in a chemical environment is an asset
• Understand safe chemical handling and storage
• TDG and WHIMIS training is a strength
• Forklift experience - 3 years preferred
• Abiding by company policies and procedures
• Ability to problem solve and work independently or with a team
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Own reliable form of transportation
• Able to operate and work with minimal supervision

Working Conditions:

• Safety glasses and steel toe shoes required
• Frequently standing, walking, bending, stooping, crouching, and twisting while transferring product
• Operating mobile equipment
