Shop hand ( electrical assembly)

Position Summary:

• The Shop assembly technician will be trained in the component preparation and electrical assembly of Cleantek designed lighting fixtures and perform activities and functions associated to the production of product, inventory management and maintenance of the shop facility.


• This is a Seasonal position is open for a hiring period of April through end of September.


• Potential for retained employment may be considered for appropriate candidates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

• Assembly of light fixtures, sub-components and associated rigging.


• Ensure shelving system is organized.


• Packaging of product and material handling.


• Facilitating parts receiving, loading and unloading of shipments.


• Assist in maintaining a clean shop facility.


• Perform other duties as required.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Excellent organizational skills.


• Strong written and verbal skills


• Be able to demonstrate ability and understanding to operate hand tools (crimpers, screw drivers, pliers, cutting tools, wheel jacks) and powered tools (sanders, drills, drivers, saws, heat guns)


• Fundamental knowledge of mechanical, electrical and metal components.


• Basic electrical knowledge.

Education, Training, and Experience

• Previous experience with electrical assembly preferred.


• Previous experience with inventory an asset.


• Minimum high school diploma; some post-secondary electrical training preferred.


• 1 year of more experience in manufacturing/ shop environment preferred.


• Forklift operation certification an asset.


• First Aid & CPR/AED level C a benefit.

Special Conditions of Employment

• Overtime may be requested in order to meet production volumes.


• Manual lifting required for component receiving & unpacking, as well as product handling and packaging.

• Must have Class 5 driver licence and reliable mode of transportation
  

7:30- 4pm shift with 1 coffee and lunch break. (8 hours)

Pay subject to experience. 20-23/hr starting.
