THE JOB
Hy-Tech is adding a Shop Labourer to our growing team. This position performs a variety of tasks, such as identifying items for repair, organizing equipment and supplies, painting, cleaning work areas and equipment, and other duties as they arise. We are looking to add an ambitious, well-rounded individual to carry out the following key responsibilities:
Follows direction from the tradesmen to provide assistance in the shop. Maintains records of maintenance and repair activities for the shop.
Operates a forklift to load and unload drill equipment and supplies.
Performs daily forklift inspections and completes logs. Completes required pre-op checklists for trucks and other equipment at the shop.
Ensures that equipment and supplies are stored correctly in the yard.
Washes work areas and equipment using the wash pad to ensure contaminated material is contained.
Gathers and loads items listed in the relevant Mobilization List to prepare for a job startup.
Assists with tracking drill components.
Assists with inventory counts.
Tracks the maintenance and repair of work vehicles.
Cleans and paints drill equipment when required.
Maintains and secures work tools.
Maintains a clean, organized and efficient work space.

THE SETTING
This position is based out of the Company Headquarters in Smithers, BC. Shop work environment. There is also a requirement to work outside in all weather conditions. Possible exposure to dust, hazardous chemicals, and high levels of noise.
THE SCHEDULE
Standard working hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday. There will also be some requirements to be available after hours and on weekends during busy times.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
High school graduation or G.E.D.
Basic computer skills in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, email and the internet.
Ability to thrive in a challenging and fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities.
Maintain high-quality standards and be a positive ambassador for Hy-Tech.
Work independently and as part of a team, developing strong relationships.
Perceive the bigger picture, tailoring your actions to achieve strategic objectives.
Must have a valid driver’s licence and provide a current drivers abstract annually.
