We’re currently growing our team of Artisans with a Shop Technician to be located at our Sherwood Park, Alberta facility. The 

Shop Technician will assist the Maintenance Manager & Shop Coordinator with equipment readiness and maintenance. In addition to the maintenance and readiness of the equipment, the Shop Technician will ensure that shop maintenance areas are stocked appropriately with tools, supplies, and other applicable items to ensure the mission readiness and capability of RTI equipment.

 The successful candidate will be engaged as a contract employee through an approved staffing agency.  

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventory in an orderly manner
  • Pull parts for various project and stage for shipping
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Receive deliveries
  • Reconcile returns against original shipping documents
  • Deliver equipment to sites
  • Restock components upon return from project
  • Perform preventative maintenance of equipment
  • Inspect equipment before and after each project
  • Complete minor repair of equipment

Requirements

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Documented mechanical aptitude or formal mechanical education
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to use hand tools
  • Ability to organize and maintain regional repair shops to provide for timely and effective repairs of RTI equipment
  • Primary knowledge of the variety of fittings, valves, pipe, other rental equipment, and the fabrication of threaded piping assemblies
  • Ability to learn and understand more extensive knowledge of mechanical equipment and pipe work
  • Familiar and comfortable working with a computer
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

  • Work is executed in a shop/warehouse environment.
  • At industrial sites and in the shop environment one may be required to carry equipment (up to 40 pounds), climb stairs and ladders, work in inclement weather and be on one’s feet for a 12-hour shift.

Travel Requirements

  • Could possibly spend 15-30 nights away from home in a year.
