We are looking for a proactive and technically strong Site Reliability Engineer to support business-critical application platforms, EDI services, and production infrastructure across North American operations. The role is accountable for improving service reliability, availability, observability, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced enterprise environment. The ideal candidate combines hands-on troubleshooting with automation, disciplined incident management, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do:
Monitor production services and respond to incidents affecting business-critical applications, integrations, and infrastructure, restoring service quickly and minimizing operational disruption.
Provide North America daytime operational coverage and participate in an on-call or escalation rotation as assigned.
Support and improve application platforms and distributed systems, including Kubernetes, Nginx, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and related runtime components.
Maintain and support EDI and external-facing platform services, including AS2 servers, FTP/SFTP services, dashboards, and supporting integrations.
Support Java and Node.js runtime platforms and collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot application, middleware, database, and performance issues.
Build and improve monitoring, alerting, logging, and dashboards using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Kibana.
Automate repetitive operational activities, health checks, deployments, recovery procedures, and environment validation using scripting and infrastructure automation practices.
Participate in incident, problem, and change management; lead root cause analysis and ensure corrective and preventive actions are documented and completed.
Define and track service reliability measures such as service-level indicators, service-level objectives, availability, latency, error rates, and recovery performance.
Create and maintain production runbooks, troubleshooting guides, architecture records, operating procedures, and knowledge articles.
Collaborate with business, development, infrastructure, security, network, database, and offshore teams to deliver platform upgrades and reliability improvements.
Identify capacity, resilience, security, and operational risks, then drive practical remediation and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For:
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in site reliability engineering, DevOps, systems administration, software development, platform support, or production operations.
Strong Linux troubleshooting skills and practical knowledge of networking, DNS, certificates, HTTP/S, load balancing, storage, and system performance.
Experience supporting containerized or distributed platforms, preferably Kubernetes and Docker.
Experience with monitoring, metrics, logging, and alerting solutions; hands-on exposure to Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, or equivalent tools is preferred.
Experience with relational or NoSQL databases such as Sybase, MySQL, MongoDB, or equivalent platforms.
Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python, Bash, Java, or JavaScript.
Understanding of incident response, root cause analysis, change management, capacity planning, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts.
