We are recruiting for the 2025 season (May through October)Camp, Hotel or Airbnb accommodations will be provided unless you prefer to secure your own private accommodation for the season. LOA based on accommodations.

Position Summary:


 


Reporting directly to the Project Manager and General Superintendent, the Surface and Baseworks Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day operations at their project site(s). The Site Superintendent is responsible for the allocation of resources, equipment and subcontractors within their projects. They monitor and inspect work in progress to ensure compliance with contract specifications and company standards. The main objective of the Site Superintendent will be to deliver work safely, within time, within budget and to the expected level of quality.


 


Key Responsibilities:


 



  • Supervise and direct surface and baseworks projects in strict accordance with contract documents and Castle Rock procedures

  • Overseeing the execution of sub-cuts, importing and placing structural gravel

  • Roadbuilding - preparation for and working with concrete curb and asphalt contractors

  • Ensure safety compliance by all workers, including subcontractors

  • Ensure all reports including daily journals, Health and Safety documentation and maintenance records are completed per reporting requirements (daily, weekly etc.)

  • Day-to-day coordination of construction crews, owned equipment, rented equipment, material supply and subcontractors



  • Plan and implement construction schedules with Project Manager and confirm manpower, equipment and subcontractor availability.



Requirements:


 



  • 5 - 10 years of civil / infrastructure construction site supervision, preferably in the areas of road building, earthworks and/or sewer and water construction

  • Completion of a post-secondary education program in Civil Engineering or Construction Management an asset

  • Proficient in both written and verbal English, with the ability to undertake moderately complex technical correspondence and conversations, as well as to provide clear direction to project team members

  • Proven leader of people able to engage and motivate a team to consistently deliver their best work

  • Ability to review and interpret contracts, ensuring any additional work outside of project scope is identified

  • Adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working well under pressure and meeting deadlines

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, as well as attention to detail

  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
