About Us

BGC Weston-Mount Dennis Club proudly serves children and youth in the Weston-Mount Dennis and surrounding communities by offering programs that foster social, physical, educational, and creative development. Our summer day camp programs support children and youth through education, recreation, leadership development, health and nutrition, and the arts in a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.

Position Summary

BGC Weston Mount Dennis Club is seeking a creative, organized, and enthusiastic Social Media Coordinator to support summer camp documentation and promotion across multiple camp locations. This position will be responsible for capturing high-quality photos and videos, creating engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, and helping showcase the impact, energy, and success of our summer camp programs.

The Social Media Coordinator will visit various camp sites, including Portage Trail, Youth Leadership in Training, Baycrest, John Polanyi, and Dance Camp, to document activities, special events, trips, leadership moments, and camp highlights. This role will also support the creation of weekly social media challenges across all camp sites to encourage creativity, engagement, and participation among campers and staff.

The successful candidate should be comfortable working around children and youth, taking initiative, following consent and privacy guidelines, and producing content that reflects the values and mission of BGC Weston Mount Dennis Club.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and capture high-quality photos and videos of camp programs, activities, trips, special events, and daily camp experiences.


• Develop engaging content for BGC Weston Mount Dennis Club’s social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.


• Travel to various camp locations to document programming, including Portage Trail, Youth Leadership in Training, Baycrest, John Polanyi, and Dance Camp.


• Create and coordinate a weekly social media challenge across all camp sites to encourage participation, creativity, and camp spirit.


• Work with camp staff and supervisors to identify key moments, activities, and stories to highlight.


• Ensure all photos and videos follow organizational consent, privacy, and child safety guidelines.


• Review content for quality, appropriateness, branding, and professionalism before submission or posting.


• Organize and upload approved photos and videos to designated folders or shared drives.


• Support the development of captions, short videos, reels, stories, and posts that promote camp activities and community impact.


• Maintain a positive and professional presence when interacting with campers, families, staff, and community partners.


• Assist with documenting special events, theme days, trips, guest workshops, and end-of-summer highlights.

Qualifications

• Experience creating social media content for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or other platforms.


• Comfortable taking photos and videos in active camp environments.


• Strong communication, creativity, and organizational skills.


• Ability to work independently and take initiative.


• Comfortable travelling between multiple camp locations.


• Experience working with children, youth, camps, community programs, or nonprofit organizations is considered an asset.


• Knowledge of Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite, or other editing tools is considered an asset.


• Ability to follow privacy, consent, and child protection guidelines.


• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality content.

Requirements

• Must be available Monday to Friday for 35 hours per week.


• Must attend mandatory training from June 22 – 26, 2026.


• Must be able to travel between camp sites as required.


• Must provide or be willing to obtain a valid Vulnerable Sector Check.


• Standard First Aid and CPR-C is considered an asset.


• Must demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and respect for children, youth, families, and staff.
