Software Architect

Cortex Agritechnology is a member of the AgriHub Family of companies, focused on developing innovative technology products to assist farms in understanding, analyzing and using their data to make efficient and effective farm management decisions.

We are currently recruiting for a Software Architect to join our team. The Software Architect is responsible for designing and developing software systems and applications tailored to our products and to customers’ specific needs. 

Duties include:

Lead in the architectural design and implementation of new and existing software systems. Lead transformational projects by integrating IoT platforms and developing enterprise IoT cloud solutions Lead IT-OT integration involving IoT technology, 3 rd Party Systems and API’s Lead and deploy IoT cloud-based projects with various business functions Determine operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions.  Work in collaboration with Solutions Analysts to analyze and design solutions, filter and prioritize requirements for development.  Document and demonstrate solutions by developing supporting documents, code comments and clean/concise code.  Develop information systems by designing, developing, and installing software solutions following the software development lifecycle.   Design and update software databases  Maintain and improve the performance of existing software by investigating problem areas and proposing solutions Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues   Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary   Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in policies and procedures.  Manage software environments, deployment pipeline and associated databases for all custom software development products.

Skills Required:

7+ years’ experience in web and software development User interface development which may involve MQTT, dashboards, HMI development, web-based HMI, Python, Raspberry Pi, Arduino technologies Demonstrates knowledge of web technologies and frameworks, such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS, Svelte, React, Typescript, Python Experience working with database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server and Postgres Experience using and interfacing with microcontrollers such as RaspberryPi, Arduino Experience implementing, maintaining, and deploying cloud-based solutions utilizing cloud solution providers such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform Experience with products like Git, Github , Confluence Experience with Scrum and Kanban methodologies Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively  Demonstrated understanding of projects from the perspective of both client and business Strong attention to detail
