What You Will Do

• Create software requirements and develop the engine controls embedded software design by working closely with internal and external customers.
• Work closely with PWC control system department and other software suppliers for proper software implementation.
• Support engine tests department and suppliers’ closed-loop bench test facilities to ensure smooth execution of system tests and software verification activities.
• Review and interpret test data produced during validation testing.
• Provide continuous improvement to organizational processes based on lessons learned through implementation.

Qualifications You Must Have *

• The ideal candidates must have a degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Software or Aerospace); combined with 5 to 15 years of experience in controls systems engineering or working with gas turbine engines, depending on the position.
• Relevant experience in gas turbine, aircraft or automotive control systems as well as knowledge of dual channel FADEC would be considered an asset.
• An understanding of aerospace software DO-178C is required, and knowledge of DO-254 firmware is considered desirable.
• Expertise: Simulation and modeling (MatLab or SCADE), Controls Theory, dynamic system analytical capabilities, gas turbine controls.
• Desirable Qualities: good communication, leadership and teamwork skills, focus on results, strong analytical thinking skills, systems thinking.
• Background in multiple engineering disciplines (Control systems, Operability, Performance, Software engineering, Test engineering)
