Opportunity:

March Networks is looking for a Solution Test Specialist (SDET) to perform hands-on installation, upgrade and testing of our video-enabled business intelligence solutions. The focus will include helping to build and manage large test and demonstration environments, verification of solution-level functionality (across multiple applications) and writing and automating tests and test plans. We are looking for an energetic, proactive and positive person who is passionate about quality, test automation and technology, possesses a collaborative mindset, and has a deep curiosity as to how things work ‘under the hood’ as well as an ability to create and maintain a high-quality effective test plan.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Hands-on installation, upgrade and system testing of our product suite.
• Deliver value to our customers by validating business workflows across the product suite.
• Design, write and execute solution-level end-to-end manual (50%) and automated (50%) tests and manage test results.
• Write crisp, reproducible defect and observation tickets and collaborate with development, product management and other stakeholders to get them resolved.

·        Help develop the test automation roadmap for our solution with the goal of increasing automation coverage across the board.

• Collaborate with developers and architects to ensure new cross-product features are designed to be testable using automation.
• Discover and analyze quality gaps and proactively take action to fix them.
• Help build and manage a world-class customer-like lab comprising a mixture of cloud and on-prem applications and equipment.
• Participate in design and architectural reviews of proposed build and automation solutions across project teams.
• Manage quality by owning defects, production incidents, test plans, and prioritizing technical debt and architectural spikes to improve the quality of the product suite.
• Comply with established automation guidelines and standards for code consistency and maintainability.

Qualifications:

• College or bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering program
• Professional experience in System or Solution-level testing, preferably with hands-on experience in writing automated tests.
• Understanding of cloud computing platforms, web, mobile, desktop apps, hardware platforms, API and database testing technologies
• Strong test planning and test execution skills
• Knowledge of automated testing industry best practices and trends
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with Python, JavaScript and/or Java.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Cypress and Selenium.
• Experience of desktop test automation tools is an asset.
• Knowledge of automated build management tools
• Familiarity with Linux/Windows development environment
• Familiarity with Jenkins, Git, Confluence and Jira
• Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
