Job Overview:
We are seeking a talented Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and creativity in the kitchen, along with strong leadership skills to assist in managing kitchen operations. Loves working with local produce.
Duties:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and recipe creation
- Oversee kitchen staff and coordinate food production activities
- Ensure food quality and presentation meet the restaurant's standards
- Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Monitor kitchen cleanliness and adherence to food safety regulations
- Train and mentor kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and safety procedures
Requirements:
- 3-5 years minimum experience in a similar position and environment
-FoodSafe certified (within 1 week of employment)
- In-depth knowledge of food handling, preparation, and sanitation practices
-Ability to solve problems as they arise, show good judgement
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Culinary degree or relevant certification is a plus
