Specialized Developer

OVERVIEW

The role involves the design, development, and testing of operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for various computing applications. The candidate will be responsible for modifying existing databases, managing database systems, and collaborating with project teams to ensure successful database development and implementation.

The ideal candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, along with problem-solving and customer service abilities. They should be able to work independently, manage their time effectively, and have a comprehensive understanding of the full software development lifecycle, from analysis and requirements gathering to testing and delivery.

Pay: T4 $58-62 / IC: $65-70

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and test operating systems-level software and compilers.


• Modify existing databases and database management systems to meet project requirements.


• Write and code logical and physical database descriptions, specifying identifiers for the database management system.


• Coordinate with project teams to determine project scope and limitations related to database development.


• Review project requests to estimate time and cost for database user needs.


• Troubleshoot issues and implement system changes as necessary to resolve problems.


• Perform other duties as assigned to support project objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field is required.


• 2 to 4 years of experience in software development or a related area is required.


• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.


• Experience with the full software development lifecycle, including analysis, requirements gathering, and testing.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Proficiency in XML, Java, JSP, and other relevant software technologies.


• Knowledge of computer development software, including SQL and VisualBasic.

PREFERRED

• Experience working as part of a project team in a database development environment.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a relevant field is required.
