Sr Data Engineer

Strategic Resources International is seeking a highly motivated, experienced and dedicated Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. This senior-level position is vital to the company as it, in partnership with various business units and IT, aids in improving our capabilities in making reason-driven decisions and accomplishing overall business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, construct and implement high performance data pipeline architectures capable of processing large volumes of data.
• Convert complex data and functional requirements into detailed designs and data models that are scalable, maintainable, and efficient.
• Lead the defining and enforcing of data security and privacy policies.
• Develop indicators and dashboards for fast decision making and enterprise performance monitoring.
• Mentorship of junior data engineers in terms of best practices for designing scalable data processing systems

Qualifications:

• A minimum of a bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar technical discipline. Masters degree would be an added advantage.
• Over 8 years' experience in the field of data engineering with a track-record of successfully completed high-impact projects.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, Java, or Scala in addition to extensive experience with Hadoop, Spark, and the rest of the Big Data technologies stack.
• Deep knowledge of data modelling, data access, and data storage techniques.
• Experience with Git or other version control software solutions alongside CI/CD pipeline design and implementation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
