We’re excited to welcome a Senior Field Service Technician (Audio Visual) to our Calgary team. This role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys solving complex technical problems, thinking critically in the field, and using a mix of hands-on expertise and internal resources to get the job done right.
Beyond troubleshooting, the role involves configuring, loading, and supporting software and control programs on AV-related equipment, while collaborating with other teams when needed to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions for our clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Configure, commission and troubleshoot audio video conferencing systems and AV equipment
Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance visits to support long-term client satisfaction
Monitor, respond and close service tickets
Communicate with technical support from equipment manufacturers
Ability to interpret AV system drawings and architectural plans
Complete accurate and timely service documentation
Work with the Service Coordinator to replace and return defective equipment to manufacturer (RMA)
Perform on-site upload/download of control system software and firmware (ie: Crestron, Biamp, Qsys)
Provide field-level support for control systems, including minor modifications, troubleshooting, compiling, and deploying updates with assistance from programming resources
Support programmers or other technicians as needed
Deliver end-user training when required
Perform additional duties as needed to support team objectives and adapt to changing priorities
Work schedules and locations may vary including travel to different sites
The role is primarily field-based and may involve working in active construction or renovation environments
This is a customer-facing position and the ideal candidate presents themselves professionally and communicates confidently with clients
Skills and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, coworkers and stakeholders
Attention to detail and ability to document technical changes
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet service level agreement deadlines
Foundational understanding of audio, video and control signal flow
Understanding of networking, IP, routing
Basic control system programming and troubleshooting skills (ie: Crestron, Biamp, Qsys)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Education and/or Experience:
Minimum of 4 years of audiovisual integration/service experience
