Job Description
Altis Recruitment is seeking a Sr. HRBP for our client, a crown corporation, on a 1-year contract. Acting as a trusted advisor, the Sr. HRBP provides expert guidance on general HR, employee, and labor relations issues to designated divisions/departments, working collaboratively with management and the broader HR team to develop and implement tailored solutions to meet client needs.
Roles and Responsibilities
Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders within assigned client groups, offering consultative support on HR processes, programs, and business-driven HR initiatives. Advise management on the interpretation and application of HR policies, procedures, standards, and relevant legislation/regulations. Analyze and recommend solutions to various HR and labor relations issues, acting as an internal consultant. Provide coaching and guidance to managers/supervisors in resolving people issues and enhancing people management practices. Drive organizational effectiveness, talent building, and cultural transformation as an agent of change. Collaborate with management to develop, update, and maintain job descriptions, participating in the job evaluation process. Offer proactive support and guidance on corporate learning and development initiatives. Oversee leaves and return-to-work processes through WSIB and disability insurer. Work closely with the Director of HR to implement the HR strategy in alignment with division/departmental objectives. Develop compelling business cases, supported by quantitative and qualitative analyses, to advocate for recommended initiatives or programs. Demonstrate teamwork values through active participation in corporate events, workshops, and special functions. Liaise with stakeholder groups, providing valuable expertise to support corporate priorities. Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of 7 years' experience in Human Resources within a unionized environment. Demonstrated business acumen and consulting skills, with the ability to influence business leaders effectively. Thorough knowledge of relevant provincial and federal legislation, acts, and regulations, as well as current employee and labor relations trends. Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or related discipline. Nice-to-Haves
CHRP certification is an asset. Experience in a regulatory industry, utility, public sector, or not-for-profit setting.
