Job Description

Reports to: Director of Telecom & PC Managers

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

(60%) Account Development/Management - Manage sales strategies for the Prairies telecommunications market focussed on ensuring Noramco Telecom achieves the second largest market share of telecommunications and broadband wire and cable distribution by the end of 2026 by achieving the following benchmarks:

  • Develop senior relationships with key stakeholders at Rogers/Shaw and become a primary supplier by the end of 2026;
  • Develop & establish supply chain distribution programs with Rogers/Shaw, Telus West, Canadian Fiber Optics, SaskTel & NorthwesTel and become a primary supplier to each by the end of 2026;
  • Improve overall GP Margin in the West to ensure it aligned with all other pillars of Noramco;
  • Collaborate with key OSP and ISP contractors to and grow Noramco’s network of regional contractor customers base to twenty combined by end of 2026;
  • Grow our network of regional service providers to fifteen by the end of 2026;

(25%) Business Development - Manage local vendor relationships to ensure Noramco Telecom is viewed as a prominent partner for telecom/broadband wire and cable re-distribution. Large projects and branch inventories will be leveraged with strategic vendor partners to ensure we consistently receive competitive pricing.

(15%) Work in conjunction the PC Managers to ensure an efficient flow of inventory is maintained at each branch. Coordinate communication between the PCMs and our Telecom vendors to manage product lines that we distribute. Ensure slow-moving inventory is managed and commodity items are in adequate supply. Work with the PCMs to redistribute inventory as required.

JOB DUTIES:

          Ensure all job functions are performed in accordance to the Standard Practice Instruction Manual;

          Manage customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction;

          Work with team to provide consistent and accurate sales forecasting;

          Assist the Director to compile information and data related to customer and prospect interactions;

          Contact current and prospective clients to identify their need for existing and/or new products;

          Respond to and processes incoming inquiries and orders;

          Coordinate the opening of new accounts and maintain the existing customer base

          Support on products when customer inquiries are directed to you;

          Build strong, long-term customer relationships focussed on ensuring repeat opportunities, which may include the following:

. ................o Developing customer appreciation events;

. .................o Participating in customer-hosted employee events;

.................. o  Coordinating vendor-sponsored activities;

          Liaise with suppliers on projects and provide insight on non-stocking product opportunities;

          Monitor customer, market and competitor activity, provide feedback to the management team;

          Work closely with the marketing department to establish successful support programs;

          Manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities;

          Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners to develop key relationships;

          Coordinate and assist in the various functions in office sales and administration, including:

...................... o   Liaising with operations and purchasing personnel while entering orders;

...................... o   Providing pricing quotations and following-up on every quote, when necessary;

...................... o   Administering the opening of new accounts and maintaining existing databases;

          Work respectfully and diligently to grow existing business by promoting Noramco Telecom products and consistently offer our expertise and service;

          Deal with every customer complaint in an expedient manner, ensure a satisfactory resolve;

          Ensure superior customer service is the objective during each customer interface;

          Prospect and develop new business through a strategic process of warm and colds calls;

          Remain up-to-date on various product lines by actively and aggressively pursuing formalized vendor training programs and informal product research;

          Stay informed of sales objectives, targeted product lines, required market-intel, vendor objectives, and competitor activities. Promote new knowledge to team as deemed necessary;

          Stay current in your profession and enroll in continuing education focussed on leadership skills and account management principals:

          Ensure proper administration is maintained in the management of freight claims and reel returns;

          Continuously develop knowledge of product to remain up-to-date with various product lines (including vendor training) and industry changes;

          Performs any other duties as required by management.

QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

        Post-Secondary education

        Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel

        Previous Sales experience in Telecom

        Superior interpersonal and communication skills

        Ability to develop long-term client relationships

        A highly professional approach to business

        Willingness to travel

        Exceptional organization skills, ability to multitask and a keen eye for detail

        Technically proficient to quickly learn and understand products

        Ability to develop quotations & project bid packaging / pricing / presentations

         Knowledge of electrical industry in general is an asset
