In the AI Software team, we build the Qualcomm AI Engine to enables OEMs and developers to run their Machine Learning workloads on Qualcomm\u0027s low-power AI accelerators. Your work will directly impact the runtime efficiency, latency, and power consumption of AI applications running on Qualcomm hardware deployed on cars, notebook computers, phones, and wearables. Come join us to work on bleeding edge AI technology.\n\nAt the Staff Engineer level, you will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the Qualcomm AI Engine, working with a high degree of autonomy across complex runtime features and subsystems. You will drive architectural decisions that span multiple projects, partnering closely with hardware, systems, compiler, and product teams to deliver scalable, high\u2011performance solutions. In addition to hands\u2011on development, you will provide technical leadership through design reviews and mentorship, ensuring that our software meets demanding requirements for performance, power efficiency, and long\u2011term maintainability across Qualcomm\u2019s low\u2011power AI platforms.\n\nNote: This is not a data science position.\n\nNew Head count allocation\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\n\n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. \nOR \nMaster\u0027s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience. \nOR \nPhD in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.\n\nDuties \u0026 Responsibilities:\n\nDesign and implement core components of the ML runtime framework for inference on embedded systems, operating in low power, small memory footprint platforms\n\n * Develop and maintain C/C++ code for runtime kernels and system-level integration\n * Development of model analyzing tools for the internal and external customers\n * Use cross compiler toolchains for embedded systems such as Android, embedded Linux and QNX\n * Address issues found in existing and past Qualcomm AI products\n * Debug customer machine learning use cases executing on Qualcomm AI Stack\n * Communication across globally diverse team\n * Participate in software quality process improvements\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\n * Eight or more years of relevant work experience\n * Experience with modern C++17 language features\n * Practical experience with developing middleware or firmware software\n * Experience with multitasking and multithreading driver development\n * Experience with Hexagon DSP SDK or cross compiler toolchains for embedded systems\n * Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch or ONNX\n * Experience with tools such as git, Linux, JIRA and Docker\n * Knowledge of design patterns\n\n\n\nApplicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
