Axis Theatre Company is a touring TYA company that brings dynamic, engaging works to young people in to schools and community theatres. We are currently looking for an Equity Stage Manager for our upcoming touring production of Frog Belly Rat Bone.

Duties include:

• Attending all rehearsals and meetings
• Producing and distributing daily schedules and rehearsal notes as required
• Preparing performance script for tour
• Driving company vehicle with set and cast
• Supervising and taking part in set up and tear down of set, props, and costumes at venues
• Managing touring paperwork/time sheets and show reports
• Doing show laundry (Additional Fee)
• Operating technical equipment during performances (e.g. QLab) (Additional Fee)
• Advising with the technical director for lighting at theatres

Key Qualifications:

• Previous experience with Theatre for Young Audiences
• Strong technical knowledge (Sound and Lighting)
• Ability to load and unload heavy and awkward set pieces in and out of a large van
• Ability to call a lighting focus and advise a technician in programming lighting and sound cues
• Ability to gauge the needs of a show and learn quickly
• Ability to do simple set and costume repairs
• Valid driver's license and clean abstract
• Ability to navigate using maps and/or GPS
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills are a must
• Clear understanding of the CTA (section 55)
• Take the time to understand Axis' anti-harassment/driving/social media policies

Equity members hired will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. Axis Theatre operates under the TYA provisions of the CTA.
