Stewarding Supervisor

Job Details:

• Job Type: Full-time
• Schedule: Flexibility is key; availability for weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

As a Steward Supervisor, you will:

• Ensure that all backspace areas, storage and stewarding spaces are clean and organized at all times.
• Supervise the stewards to ensure that productivity is maintained and proper breaks are taken.
• Ensure predetermined daily cleaning assignments and weekly duties are performed by stewarding team.
• Maintain par stock of banquet equipment at levels required by anticipated business through the review of BEO’s and communication from Banquets Management Team and Kitchen Management Team.
• Conduct daily preventative maintenance inspections of the dish machines and complete any reasonable maintenance orders.
• Assist in the set-up of the backspace & kitchen on event days according to the expectations framed by the Kitchen Management Team.
• Maintain and monitor inventories of glassware, china, silverware, chafing dishes, heat lamps, chemicals and kitchen cleaning supplies and communicate with Chef or Banquets when orders need to be placed.
• Monitor staff schedule daily and make adjustments as dictated by business.
• Adhere to Stewarding Standard Operating procedures.
• Follow guidelines established in the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organizational standards of entire workspace, loading dock area and garbage of the complex.

Job Requirements:

• 2 years experience in a supervisory or managerial role
• 2+ years of Stewarding/Dishwashing experience in a related hospitality setting
• Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Able to lift up to 50lbs continually during shift
• High level communication and computer skills
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to work safely with potentially hazardous chemicals
• Flexible schedule must be available for evenings and weekends.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
