The House of Commons’ Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Strategic Advisor, IT Security Engagement and Outreach position.
The Strategic Advisor, IT Security Engagement & Outreach is a senior advisory role responsible for driving institution-wide cybersecurity awareness, engagement, and cultural transformation at the House of Commons. Acting as a strategic change catalyst, the incumbent designs long-term outreach frameworks that influence cybersecurity behaviours and strengthen digital trust among Members of Parliament, senior executives, and administrative leadership. The role shapes organizational attitudes toward cyber risk, ensuring awareness initiatives align with parliamentary mandates, legislative obligations, and institutional risk appetite.
Operating autonomously, the advisor serves as a principal interface between the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), political leadership, and external or inter-governmental partners on cybersecurity communication, information management, resilience, and institutional readiness. The role leads matrixed teams without formal authority, delivers executive-level briefings, and provides strategic communications support during high-profile cyber events or incidents. Accountability is held for outcomes that directly impact institutional resilience and reputational risk.
