What You'll do
Responsible to manage the stretcher controls, ensuring that the proper settings are entered so that parts are not over or under stretched
Understand the stretcher settings and the impact that each setting has on different materials
Prepare any extruded material for the stretching process
Detect defects on extruded materials such as stretching and bowing and alert the Press Operator as appropriate
Able to use measuring devices such as a square and caliper
Assist in other areas on the line, such as packing, as needed
Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies
What You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years' experience in a machine operator capacity
Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset
Required Skills
Must be able to read and write in English
Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks
Good problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets
Working Conditions
Plant Environment
Twelve hour rotating continental shift
Exposure to loud noise and heat
May be required to lift up to 50lbs
Overtime as needed
