Other key responsibilities of the position include:
Ensuring that each student has every opportunity to achieve personal and professional success;
Developing mental health workshops (handling stress, team building, quality of life, etc.);
Providing distance counselling support to the Community Learning Centres in the region;
Liaising with community agencies and services, high schools and post-secondary institutions; and
Organizing and participating in Student Success Week.
The knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position are usually obtained through the completion of an undergraduate degree concentrating in psychology, mental health, counselling, or other related discipline and a minimum of 1 year of experience working in a counselling role, preferably in a post-secondary environment.
This is a Highly Sensitive Position and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, along with a clear Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
