Position: Student Maintenance Worker - Preference given to QMS Students
Location: Queen Margaret's School
Hours: Casual Part-time, flexible hours (Up to 8 hours per day) 4 days per week
Pay: $17.85/hour

Start Date: July 7, 2025
End Date: August 25, 2025

Position Overview:
Queen Margaret's School is seeking a motivated and reliable Student Maintenance Worker to join our Facilities Department. This role will involve basic maintenance tasks and general assistance with keeping the school’s facilities in good condition. The ideal candidate will be dependable, eager to learn, and comfortable performing a variety of simple tasks to support our maintenance team.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with moving furniture and setting up rooms for events or activities.


• Perform basic painting and touch-up tasks.


• Assist with school resident cleaning, summer camps and general campus clean up


• Help with general campus upkeep, including organizing supplies and assisting with minor repairs.


• Assist with setting up and maintaining school facilities for scheduled school activities and events.


• Follow basic work instructions and complete tasks efficiently.


• Report any maintenance issues to the Facilities Staff.


• Ensure that all areas are kept safe and accessible for students, staff, and visitors.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications:

• No prior maintenance experience is required, but a willingness to learn is essential.


• Ability to perform physical tasks, including moving furniture and lifting items (up to 50 lbs).


• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.


• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.


• Willingness to follow safety guidelines and procedures.


• A positive attitude and readiness to take on tasks as assigned.
  
  

Working Conditions:

• This role involves some physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and moving furniture.


• Work will be performed indoors and outdoors.


• Safe use of basic tools and equipment under supervision.
