Job Description - Supervisor, Commercial Admin

Cambrian Credit Union is seeking an Supervisor, Commercial Admin to join our Commercial Risk Team.


As a key member of the Commercial Risk leadership team, the Supervisor, Commercial Admin is accountable for delivering results, teamwork, continuous improvement, and sound decision‑making within the Commercial and Small Business credit administration function. This role provides direct people leadership to the Commercial CAP team (Centralized Administrator III roles), creating an inclusive, supportive, and high‑performing environment that enables staff to perform at their best while executing strategic and operational priorities.


The Supervisor, Commercial Admin is responsible for overseeing the accurate, timely, and compliant administration of commercial and small business credit documentation, with specific accountability for the quality, control, and coordination of document preparation and review. The role works in close partnership with Commercial Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, and Deal Approvers to ensure documentation reflects approved credit authorizations and supports a strong risk and control environment.


In the role of Supervisor, Commercial Admin, you will:



  • Provide direct people leadership to assigned Commercial CAP employees, including identifying training and development needs, coaching and correcting performance issues, completing performance reviews, and supporting employee engagement and retention.

  • Oversee all Commercial and Small Business credit administration functions to ensure the high‑quality, accurate, compliant, and timely completion of operational requirements, while fostering an environment that promotes teamwork, service excellence, accountability, and strong morale.

  • Ensure the effective preparation, review, and coordination of Commitment Letters, including oversight of CAP’s review of facility information, security listings, conditions precedent, reporting requirements, financial covenants, annual review dates, fees, and all risk‑related notes or conditions outlined in approved authorizations.

  • Oversee the process for Commitment Letter amendments and revisions, ensuring CRM‑requested changes are managed through Salesforce Commitment Letter cases, documents are issued in locked format to prevent unauthorized edits, and clarification is obtained directly from CRMs where required.

  • Ensure appropriate control reviews are completed by Credit Risk or the original Deal Approver prior to Commitment Letters being presented to members, confirming required approvals, confirmations, and documentation are properly completed and retained.

  • Utilize change management skills to support staff through changes in processes, systems, documentation standards, or controls, helping employees understand the purpose and impact of change and providing ongoing guidance and support.

  • Identify operational inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement within Commercial CAP processes, working collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to simplify workflows, reduce rework, improve turnaround times, and enhance the member experience.

  • Conduct regular team huddles, one‑on‑one meetings, and team meetings to mentor, motivate, coach, provide performance feedback, and develop a high‑performing Commercial CAP team.

  • Empower team members to resolve issues independently within their scope of authority, while providing guidance and escalation support as needed.

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships internally across Commercial, Credit Risk, CAP leadership teams and with external partners to support effective communication, alignment, and execution of strategic and operational objectives.

  • Support the Director, CAP in identifying objectives, measures, and strategic priorities through planning discussions, reporting, and ongoing dialogue, and collaborate effectively with peers in the broader CAP Supervisor leadership team.


Your Education & Experience:



  • Post secondary education in Business Administration or Management considered an asset.

  • Three to five years experience in Commercial Services, preferably in a credit union.

  • Previous experience in leadership, administration and/or change management considered an asset.

  • Proficient in PC applications of Outlook, Word & Excel.

  • Innovative and critical thinker who analyzes information and uses logic to address issues, problems, and challenges.

  • Ability to work well in a diverse environment with multiple and often changing priorities.
