We are seeking a surveyor, to join our team in the Okanagan.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and perform various survey tasks as required;


• Interpret engineered drawings;
  


• Perform various staking methods of road and development construction including slope and grade stakes;
  


• Perform topographic surveys of original ground and other surfaces;
  


• Perform asbuilts of installed structures;
  


• Measure and record field data accurately with a high level of detail;


• Communicate effectively with Supervisors and Project Managers on a daily basis;
  


• Ability to perform all tasks in a safe manner and understand the importance of working in a safe work environment;
  


• Compile and complete reports;
  


• Perform other labour duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Successfully completed or working towards a certification in Geomatics;


• Have a strong work ethic and works well in a team environment;


• Be willing to travel within the province for work;


• Natural ability to solve problems, communicate clearly and effectively;


• Be flexible and willing to work night shifts if required;


• Enjoy working outdoors in a fast paced and challenging environment;


• Valid Canadian driver’s license with a clean driving abstract;


• Physically capable of walking on uneven terrain, climbing slopes, and carrying 20 kilograms;

The salary range for this position will be discussed during the interview stage, taking into consideration candidate qualifications and experience. In addition, if on assignments away from your base office, you will be eligible for living out allowance (LOA) or be provided camp accommodations and meals. The LOA is calculated on a project basis to cover room costs plus meal allowance. While assigned to a project you may be eligible for a project specific salary uplift, calculated based on project conditions such as crew schedule, rotation schedule and shift start time. Project specific salary top ups may range from 0% to 25%.
