Honorarium Position

Overview

The Sustainability Director leads ASUS in advancing sustainability initiatives, developing a society-wide action plan, and strengthening ties with the Queen’s Sustainability Office. They collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate sustainable practices into ASUS operations, research best practices, and support environmentally responsible events and policies.

Time Commitment and Remuneration

Term: May 1st, 2025 – April 30th, 2026

Hours: 4-6 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an ASUS Environmental Action Plan in alignment with global sustainability standards.
• Collaborate with ASUS Commissioners, Officers, and University stakeholders to integrate sustainability into policies, initiatives, and events.
• Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with the Queen’s Sustainability Office and promote its opportunities.
• Research best sustainability practices and recommend improvements for ASUS operations and facilities.
• Hold five (5) office hours per week, with at least one overlapping with the ASUS Vice President of Society Affairs' office hours.
