At Responsive Health Management, we are committed to “Making Every Moment Matter™” by providing compassionate care for our residents. We are seeking a dedicated Talent Acquisition Specialist to support recruitment efforts for two newly redeveloped long-term care homes.



About the Role:


The Talent Acquisition Specialist will lead and execute strategic hiring initiatives to build a high-performing healthcare team for a redeveloping long-term care (LTC) home. Reporting to the Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, this role is responsible for recruiting nurses, personal support workers (PSWs), allied health professionals, and operational staff for a greenfield LTC home (new construction) and ensuring the home is fully staffed and operational before opening.


This position is Hybrid. The selected candidate should have the ability to travel to our homes in the Greater Ottawa Area, as required and be available for meetings at the homes. Our Initial Long Term Care new build is located in Orleans, Ontario and scheduled to open in the second quarter of this year.

Wage Rate:


The starting salary is $80,000.


 


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Recruitment for our New LTC Build



  • Develop and execute a phased hiring plan to ensure the new LTC home is fully staffed before opening

  • Partner with senior leadership, the HHR Redevelopment Team, and operations teams to identify staffing needs for the new Home

  • Meet or exceed defined recruitment targets for all clinical and non-clinical roles within set deadlines

  • Support employer branding efforts to position the LTC home as an employer of choice in the community


 


End-to-End Talent Acquisition & Hiring



  • Lead the full-cycle recruitment process (job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, document verification, and pre-onboarding)

  • Build talent pipelines for critical healthcare roles, including PSWs, RNs, RPNs, and support staff

  • Leverage recruitment community partnerships to expand sourcing efforts and fill high-demand positions quickly

  • Utilize innovative sourcing methods (social media, job fairs, partnerships with colleges, and industry networks)

  • Ensure a positive candidate experience from initial contact to job offer, making the hiring process seamless and engaging


 


HR Technology & Recruitment Optimization



  • Leverage Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) to manage and track candidates efficiently throughout the hiring process

  • Utilize candidate outreach software to engage passive candidates and optimize sourcing efforts such as MailChimp

  • Implement automated recruitment workflows to enhance efficiency and improve time-to-fill metrics

  • Stay updated on emerging HR technologies and best practices to continuously improve recruitment strategies


 


Creating a Positive & Engaging Candidate & New Hire Experience



  • Design and implement engaging recruitment touchpoints to create a welcoming experience

  • Ensure clear and consistent communication throughout the hiring process

  • Provide personalized candidate interactions, making applicants feel valued and respected

  • Organize onboarding events and first-day experiences to help new hires integrate smoothly

  • Gather feedback from new hires to continuously enhance the hiring and onboarding experience


 


Community & Educational Partnerships



  • Develop partnerships with nursing schools, PSW training programs, and local colleges to create talent pipelines

  • Host hiring events, job fairs, and info sessions to engage local job seekers

  • Collaborate with local employment and immigration agencies and healthcare associations to reach diverse talent pools


 


Recruitment Metrics & Process Improvement



  • Track and analyze hiring data to ensure recruitment goals are met

  • Provide weekly/monthly recruitment reports to leadership, demonstrating progress toward staffing goals and project milestones and plan

  • Continuously improve recruitment processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality hires


 


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare recruitment, talent acquisition, or workforce planning

  • Recruitment agency experience (staffing firm, RPO, or agency-based hiring) is strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to meet or exceed recruitment targets in high-volume hiring environments

  • Previous experience in LTC, senior living, or hospital hiring is a strong asset

  • Strong understanding of healthcare workforce challenges, LTC regulations, and industry best practices

  • Experience with job fairs, community outreach, and aggressive talent sourcing strategies

  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on hitting hiring goals within tight deadlines

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to manage multiple hiring priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruitment technology
