Job Description - Teacher Librarian

New Westminster Schools Career Opportunity New Westminster Schools is seeking a qualified Teacher Librarian for the following position: 1.0 FTE Temporary Teacher Librarian, Lord Kelvin Elementary School About New Westminster Schools Serving the community of New Westminster, the New Westminster School District provides high quality educational programs to over 7,000 students in a variety of learning environments. An understanding of the BC Curriculum, effective teaching and learning practices, and a commitment to professional development are essential. This position is available effective September 3, 2024 and will end June 30, 2025 with opportunity to apply internally for postings for the following school year. Qualifications: Valid BC Teachers Certificate Member of the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch Qualified/experienced in Library Science Masters Degree in Library Science preferred but a Diploma in Teach Librarianship will be considered Knowledge of effective literacy and numeracy practices and development Knowledge and experience in personalizing learning for all students Ability and willingness to work in a technologically rich learning environment Successful completion of a Criminal Record Search as carried out through the Ministry of Education Teacher Regulation Branch Commitment to creating a safe and caring learning environment Compensation: Salary as per Teachers' Collective Agreement. Current salary range is $57,984.00 to $107,490.00 annually plus comprehensive benefits package.
