Team Lead, Field Service Engineering

As the Team Lead, Field Service Engineering, you will lead a team of engineers and technologists responsible for supporting shipyard production within a specific engineering discipline. Acting as the primary liaison between Engineering and Production, you will help ensure technical issues are resolved efficiently and that production teams have the information they need to succeed.

Working closely with Production, Planning, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams, you will coordinate engineering support activities, lead technical problem solving, and drive continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced shipbuilding environment.

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Field Service Engineers and Technologists. 
• Coordinate and prioritize engineering support activities and assignments. 
• Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering and Production. 
• Lead projects and make operational decisions with minimal oversight. 
• Develop and improve processes and procedures to support daily operations. 
• Ensure Technical Issue Reports (TIRs) and Change Requests are documented and communicated effectively. 
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
• Represent the Field Service Engineering team in discipline-specific meetings.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Diploma in Engineering Technology in a related discipline. 
• 5+ years of experience in shipbuilding, manufacturing, construction, or another complex industrial environment. 
• Strong understanding of engineering design, production processes, planning, and materials management. 
• Ability to interpret production drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), 3D models, and technical data. 
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
