Your role  

• Collaborate with test designers to help develop testing methodologies using your comprehensive running experience and thorough analysis of running footwear


• Play with and test the latest running shoes, ensuring every feature is thoroughly examined


• Analyze test results to verify quality and performance and extrapolate how this impact real-world usage


• Investigate performance issues and find solutions


• Record detailed test results and maintain accurate documentation


• Recheck results as methodologies are updated or in response to user questions


• Other duties as assigned 

What personality we are looking for 

• You love to run and understand the performance aspects of athletic footwear; You must be able to understand, describe and differentiate running shoes


• You enjoy researching and comparing products, often spending weeks analyzing before making a purchase


• You take pride in helping others find the best products to suit their needs


• You embrace continuous learning and stay updated on new athletic footwear


• Your methodical approach ensures thorough and accurate testing

Qualification/Experience

• Proficient in English


• Experience in materials science or a technical background in exercise science (kinesiology) is an asset

*We're open to hiring either an entry-level candidate, or one with more experience as follows:

Tester I
Entry level position, but other levels can be achieved within two years of employment
Salary range: $52-$57K

• You are a hobbyist for running shoes


• You are looking to learn on how to test products and grow into Level II


• You have basic understanding on how running shoes are tested

Tester II
Note: Further advancement exists beyond this role.
Salary range: $65-$87K

• You are involved in running shoe hobbyist communities


• You have deeper understanding on how running shoes are tested and have performed such tests before


• You have relevant work experience

Senior
Salary range: $78-105K

• You are a recognized voice in running shoes hobbyist communities


• You are a specialist on running shoe testing and can collaborate on creating or improving testing methodology


• You can draw deep understanding from product testing data


• You have leadership/management experience
