Technical Lead- Zero Emission Propulsion

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and manage personnel within the department, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. This position plays a key role in supporting the development and implementation of Zero Emission Vehicle designs for MCI and New Flyer transit vehicles, ensuring alignment with organizational goals for sustainability and innovation. In addition to team leadership and technical support, the role includes maintaining accurate and timely reporting to support project tracking, performance metrics, and compliance requirements

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Manage key aspects of the Zero Emission Propulsion Team, ensuring alignment with departmental goals
• Track and report on project progress to support timely and successful execution
• Represent the team in multi-departmental meetings, fostering collaboration and effective communication
• Provide ongoing support to team members, promoting a cohesive and productive work environment
• Assist with planning and field service challenges to ensure production targets are met and average time between failures is minimized
• Monitor First Pass Yield (FPY) and On-Time Rate (OTR) metrics for internal departmental reporting and continuous improvement

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Proven experience leading projects, with strong organizational and communication skills
• Proficient in vehicle electrical troubleshooting, including the use of advanced diagnostic tools
• Skilled in collaborating with vendors and customers to resolve issues and develop innovative design solutions
• Hands on experience with electric buses and related technologies considered an asset
