Job Description - Technical Specialist - Assistant Coach Rowing

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Head Coach of the rowing team, the Technical Specialist – Assistant Coach will be expected to assist in the implementation of performance and development initiatives and other related functions that will help ensure the success of the rowing student-athletes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and distribute team equipment including boats, ores, etc.
  • Prepare practice and training equipment ahead of start times
  • Record activities and keep track of statistics during competitions and performances.
  • Analyze data to help identify trends of race/team/student-athlete activity/competency during and after regattas. Prepares reports to present to head coach.
  • Support coaching staff in the implementation of practice and race strategies.
  • Assist with the delivery of the 2026 CURA's at the Olympic Basin.
  • Assist with additional administrative tasks as required.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Knowledge or previous practical experience of the sport of rowing required
  • Level II NCCP certification or equivalent required
  • Prior coaching experience at an elite/competitive level required
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, organized, evaluation and planning skills, team oriented,
  • Strong desire and dedication to the development of the student athletes
  • Willingness to accept flexible working hours which may included early mornings and/or weekends. This may depend on time of the season.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications highly recommended
  • Bilingual in English and French

Selected candidates must successfully pass their criminal background check.

High School Diploma 2 Years Related Experience

(AMUSE C) $17.17
