Make an impact with our Tax team as an Accountant. This diverse team of professionals delivers customized tax strategies within a complex and dynamic regulatory framework. As a trusted advisor, you’ll design solutions for clients that meet compliance and reporting requirements, minimize risk, drive efficiencies and maximize returns.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and provincial sales tax returns including working with Excel spreadsheets to review and summarize the relevant transactions and taxes owed


• Register clients for federal and provincial sales tax with the relevant tax authorities


• Interact with clients and work collaboratively with Assurance and Tax team members


• Assist clients with CRA and Revenu Quebec audits


• Communicate with clients and government agencies


• Plan, organize and execute engagements on time and on budget, with an attention to detail


• Attend internal MNP courses to further develop taxation knowledge

Skills and Experience

• Post-secondary education in accounting or another relevant field 


• Bilingual is a strong asset (French/English)


• Good bilingual written and verbal communication skills to interface with clients and team members are strong assets


• Genuine motivation to help clients and willingness to learn and grow the position


• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a cross-functional team, is important


• Experience in an accounting and/or client service environment is preferred -


• Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset - such as CaseWare, TaxPrep, Profile and Tax Cycle 


• Strong computer literacy including advanced working skills of Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint is considered an asset
