It’s the largest assessment centre of its kind in Canada, providing professional competency assessment and learning programs to support the delivery of high-quality health care. Touchstone Institute works closely with physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers who provide subject matter expertise to assess and improve the level of competency across individual practice.



Touchstone Institute has become an integral part of the commitment to internationally trained health professionals seeking entry into training and practice in Ontario and has expanded to provide assessment, certification, and quality assurance programs for practitioners across Canada.



About Practice Ready Ontario (PRO)  


Practice Ready Ontario (PRO) is a workplace assessment program that helps internationally trained family physicians who have completed postgraduate training and independent practice in family medicine or as a general practitioner outside Canada, a fast-tracked pathway to begin working in Ontario. Funded by the Government of Ontario, Touchstone Institute works closely with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, the Medical Council of Canada, and others to administer the PRO program. 


The Practice Ready Ontario (PRO) Program will serve as the primary internal client for this Technology Analyst role.



Position Description  


Reporting to Manager, Technology, the Analyst plays a key role in the optimal functioning of the organization.  This role will provide analytical support across Touchstone related to technology products and services. In addition to the accountabilities outlined below, the Technology Analyst may be assigned to other high priority opportunities, risks or resource gaps that require dedicated support. 



Key Accountabilities  


Technology Analysis & Business Requirements 



  • Gather and translate business needs into clear technical and process requirements for system improvements and new tools.

  • Assess current technologies and workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimization.

  • Collaborate with IT partners, vendors, and internal teams to evaluate and implement solutions aligned with organizational priorities.

  • Document business processes, requirements, and user stories to support effective solution design and delivery.

  • Support change management by preparing communication materials, training resources, and transition plans that promote user adoption.

  • Monitor postimplementation performance, gather feedback, and recommend refinements to improve system usability and effectiveness.

  • Ensure technology initiatives follow governance standards, including risk assessment, compliance, and documentation practices. 




    Data Analysis 



    • Collect and analyze data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and correlations relevant to physician testing and assessment.

    • Use analytic techniques and data visualization tools to distill insights and communicate findings effectively. 

    • Partner with leadership to develop and implement strategic initiatives, leveraging data-driven insights to inform decision-making. 

    • Identify areas for improvement and recommend data-driven solutions to enhance performance.



    Process Analysis & Operational Efficiency 



    • Draft and revise internal policies to ensure they are relevant and compliant with legal requirements and organization objectives.  

    • Evaluate current business processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. 

    • Design and implement strategies to optimize business processes and improve performance. 

    • Work across the organization to ensure effective implementation of operational policies, processes and workflows.



    Position Requirements  



    • Understanding of the respective roles of all the key organizations (e.g., regulatory bodies, provincial Ministries, professional associations, etc.) 

    • Advanced written communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and informatively 

    • Well-developed critical thinking skills to identify key issues and propose solutions to program setbacks. 

    • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, mapping processes, and supporting technology enabled improvements.

    • Familiarity with change management principles, including engagement, communication planning, and user adoption support. 

    • Ability to evaluate technology solutions, identify system gaps, and support implementation activities in collaboration with IT partners. 



    Qualifications   



    • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, statistics, economics, or a related field. 

    • 3+ years of experience in data analysis, strategic planning, or a similar role. 

    • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in statistical analysis software. 

    • Expertise in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and Microsoft Excel. 

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences. 

    • Proven project management and organizational skills.
