Job Description - Tenant Support Representative, Paralegal


We are seeking candidates for the position of Tenant Support Representative located in our Guelph, Ontario office for a 8 month contract.

Compensation:
Starting at $60,000.00 annually

Job Description
The Tenant Support Representative is responsible for assisting the Tenant Support Supervisor in preparing legal documents for submission to the Residential Tenancy Tribunals across provinces, and following up directly on any other matter related to Residential Tenancy Tribunals applications. This position is also responsible for providing administrative support to the Business Operations department. A paralegal designation is required for this role. 

What we look for:

  • Licensed Paralegal designation is a requirement. 
  • Strong knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), Ontario Human Rights Code and other applicable legislation.
  • An administrative wizard who has a pretty good grasp of database management and an eye for details.
  • Familiarity with leasing/rental documents and lease negotiation principles.
  • Strong researching, legal documentation and file management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Able to be proactive with good problem solving skills, judgment and innovation. If you have a crystal ball, that helps too. 
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with an enthusiasm for working with the public. You'll be servicing some pretty awesome tenants and those tenants will need someone just as awesome.
  • Superior multi-tasking and organizational skills while remaining detail oriented. 
  • Diplomacy, but firm in response to assertive behavior (think cool as a cucumber).
  • Understanding of commercial property management or real estate is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Yardi is an asset.
  • Ability to operate under pressure and meet deadlines. 
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years post-secondary education or 3 years equivalent workplace experience in customer service and administration.
  • Minimum 3 days in office is a requirement.
